Kate and Will were married on Long Island, NY on July 9. They had a lovely church wedding complete with live music and beautifully written vows their outdoor reception was TO DIE FOR. Photographer Sandy Soohoo is the photographer that captured their day and I'm so happy she got some beautiful shots of my work, too!
When Kate and I spoke about their vision for their wedding, bright pinks, oranges, and yellows started swirling around in my head. She told me about the setting– a church on Long Island with breathtaking grounds with lots of woods and greenery. The reception would be outside under the stars (and twinkle lights!) next to the historic stone buildings that the church uses for various functions and celebrations. They had already ordered custom indigo blue Shibori table cloths and had taken the time to hand marbleize paper to be used for their place cards. I loved the way the colors of marbled place cards played with the indigo blue, so I decided to pull out the bright colors and use them in my designs.
All of the materials I did for Kate and Will were hand lettered in either ink or watercolor. I love how everything came together!
Here are a few more of Sandy's photos of the day. This was an absolutely beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple. I was so glad to be part of it!
